Many moons ago a wise man gave me the following advice: “See, touch, taste, smell, hear and speak as much as you can. Spend time alone travelling out of the cities, research into religions, ways of life. Go with an open mind and a warm heart. Don’t cling to the past, but enjoy the present and fly towards the future.” I try to live my life like this, exploring - through travel, art, cooking and conversation - discovering beauty, stories, inspiration and friendship. I have lived, worked and travelled all over the world - from Bhutan to Brazil, Mongolia to Mozambique, Azerbaijan to Antarctica. But the country that soaked deepest into my soul is Japan, where I lived for many years. There are adventures to be had every day, and I am so happy to be able to share them here with you!
Just back from a blissful couple of weeks island hopping round Greece with my man. A wonderful sunny break after too much rain in Yorkshire, and I watched in delight as my toes got slowly browner...
Oh looks like you had a wonderful time...You are reading my mind sweetie. I could go barefoot continuously and very nearly walk out after sitting in my front garden with no shoes on.
When i lived in W Australia, many people in the town just walked around in bare feet, it was so clean and open it was WONDERFUL and FREE to be able to just do that. (i only put shoes on to go to the pub or restaurants!) I think of that time very often, so liberating.
I'm about to head off to Spain where I will be getting my own feet brown and feeling that sand inbetween my toes - many barefoot photos to come from me too. Cant wait to see more photos from Greece (I MISS Europe). :-)
that was simply wonderful. how cute are you? i would NEVER have thought to document my trip to greece with my TOES! you clever little soul. i love the one of you and sweet honey.s toes on the boards? a dock maybe? thanks for sharing...so happy you had a toe-rrific time. {sorry, i had to say it} c
I had a friend visiting from up north WAY back in the day - we spent most of our days hanging out at the pool. He always said you're not tan until your feet are tan! What better place to work on that than Greece? lucky girl
What happy feet!! I love to go barefoot and do it as much as I can.
ReplyDeleteI have 2 friends who vacationed in Greece and now I want to go. My toes are telling me to pack asap!!!
So glad you were able to get away for a beautiful and relaxing holiday...
