Get stitching!

Today is the last day to sign up for The Great Big Stitched Postcard Swap! I had no idea how cool this was going to be – we have around 50 lovely people from all over the world signed up to create something special to drop into a stranger’s mailbox and brighten their day. I love the thought of all of us sitting in bookshops/coffee shops/on our sofas/going for a walk etc and contemplating how to interpret the theme of ‘time’. If you haven’t signed up already, what are you waiting for? Check it out here and get involved!
NB:The end of the day means when it stops being June 2nd in the last timezone

Thanks to all the generous ladies who have been sharing this on their blogs and inviting more friends in. See here for a full list of everyone signed up to date, with links to blogs so you can check out each other’s lovely blog spaces!

NB for those of you who have signed up, someone asked a very sensible question about whether to just post the postcard as it is, or put it in an envelope to protect it. It is up to you – I guess it depends on how delicate your creation is. Whatever it takes to get it there in one piece!

UPDATE JULY 2010: The Great Big Stitched Postcard Swap has now closed. Thanks to everyone who joined in and made it so much fun! See our Flickr Group here for everyone's gorgeous creations! Check back in October when the project will open again

  6. So... this may be a stupid question, but is there a certain size that is standard for a postcard?

  7. Hi Donnell

In theory you could make it any size you like, although I was thinking the size of a normal postcard, like the ones you send when you are on holiday
