Wabi Sabi Paper class with Judy Wise

I love paper.
I might have mentioned that before.
I love the way it looks, feels, soaks up ink,
changes personality under a brush, tells a story.

That's why I just had to take Judy Wise's
Wabi Sabi paper class at Squam
Several hours of natural printing with found objects, ink squirting and mess-making later, I have a 30 ft roll of homemade wrapping paper and warm memories of a class with one lovely lady...

Do you love paper too, or is it just me?

Squam round up

  1. Oh, I love paper too but I tend to hoard it!! It is so pretty that I have a hard time letting it go. Sometimes when doing craft projects I photocopy it so that I don't have to use the original.....I have a bit of a problem don't I??

  2. Gorgeous, Beth. Wish I was on your Christmas gift list! xo

  3. Eeeee, love the photos you took as well as the paper you made. And you are a traveller too; after my own heart. I will watch your blog! xo

  4. I loved your paper! I have joined Cathy's blogtober fest as well, I already have writer's block! ha!

ps send me your address and I will send you some artful blogging mags!!

  5. YES! I love paper too! and I would have love to one day take a class from Judy Wise! It looks like you had a great time at Squam. It is on my wish list of wanting to attend one day.
BUT why I really stopped by today is to THANK YOU for the lovely card you sent my way. It took some time getting to me, but filled me with happiness upon its arrival. Thanks so much!

  6. Ohh... SO love paper!! This looks like it was an amazingly fun class! Lucky girl! :)

  7. Jayne, I know exactly where you are coming from!!

  8. I love papers too---so much you can do with it. Looks like a great time and I even love the way the room looks...all that wood and earthy feeling.

  9. Yummy paper, so gorgeously handmade and I am lucky enough to have a piece you made. I might frame it. :-)

  10. I love paper too ... how wonderful to have some of the handmade variety - 30ft will last you a while! :)

  11. I absolutely love paper!

    wish Squam were closer

  12. oh yeah, LOVE paper. You created some beautiful paper. Sounds like a great class.

  13. Wow- looks like a really interesting class.

  14. Aha - you may go on my Jealousy Map! Is that OK? Because I am jealous that you worked in this lovely warm workshop and took yourself off to Squam. And made lovely paper. That feels tickly, to admit jealousy. But in a good way - lovely light in the photos, and great paper too. I am a Paper Hoarder. Which is okay for a printmaker, I guess. So lovely, the softness of paper, the way it holds light and ink and thoughts. The way it conceals and reveals, depending on use. OK. Yes, I love paper too.

  15. Such stunning results.

I've discovered you via blogtoberfest and am happy to be your newest follower...for now.

    x Felicity
