We haven't had snow like this in England in November as long as I can remember. Down to minus 20 in some places and eight inches of snow expected in the next 24 hours.
I know it is nothing like you get in other parts of the world, but somehow snow seems to always take us by surprise here. On the news they keep talking about the travel chaos everywhere, but I am secretly happy about the quiet magic that falls over the countryside when snow comes.
We shuffled downstairs early this morning, before the rest of the world woke up, and sat with steaming mugs of tea looking out over the whiteness.
I'm in London so its warmer, but I'm still freezing. Love your pictures Beth.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely views from your home. I love being snowed in! We are just cold here, we had flurries over the weekend thought.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely view!
ReplyDeleteNice shots. I like how you colored the photos. Very dramatic.
ReplyDeleteSnow snow snow :) Enjoy the every minutes of it! Keep warm Beth! xm
ReplyDeletei'm really not much of a snow person, but it just looks so lovely and i'm actually a bit excited for it to land here in the midwest. i just love that view from your studio! Stay warm!
ReplyDeletexo, juliette
I just left the snow and am now back (less than a two-hour drive) home where we are around 65 degrees. We are so used to 75+ that you would think it is snowing here though!
ReplyDeleteno snow in Brighton yet though!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the snow, but i dont think its going to be here for a while - its been so mild! Love your photos and that quiet magic is so wonderful isnt it. Enjoy being snuggly inside. x
ReplyDeleteWe've got snow, we've got snow! I love it! I always get excited when I see the first snowflakes on my nose ;). (Just like a child, I guess).
ReplyDeleteYOu've got a lovely view from your place, and you made a very nice, dreamy pictures. Beautiful!
I love snow! Your photos are great and I love the beautiful views from your studio and attic. We had a little snow on Thanksgiving morning but it was gone by late afternoon.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the snow - we've had nothing at all yet ... i love the quietness of it falling, love having pajama days at home with big cups of hot chocolate and it being all white outside. Enjoy !
ReplyDeleteStunning and so foreign. The humidity here is pushing 100%, the air is still and heavy and pushing the keyboard brings on a sweat. Just one snowflake in a glass of water would be lovely. The lagoon is glassy and promising clouds loom black on the horizon. My world is silver and gold and purple, have a look at last nights sunset on my blog. Enjoy the wonderland.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful views! - really hope i can come and see it person soon! Keep Warm x.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of your garden & views, thanks so much for sharing with us all.
ReplyDeleteThis morning, where I am in So. California, it was 41F or 6C (if I remember my conversion correctly!). Pretty chilly for us these days. Your 'travel chaos' sounds familiar...for us it's when we get some good rain! It seems so long between decent rainfall, that it's the only thing on the news - "STORM WATCH 2010!!!!". lol
Enjoy those views & have a cuppa for me. :^)
You live in a beautiful place. I always enjoy how everything looks after the fallen snow. Here in NY we haven't had anything but a few flurries.
