What's in your secret stash?

I was doing some sorting in my studio today
and was shocked by the number of spools of ribbon
I found tucked away.

Baby blues and scarlet reds, French beauties and English lace.
I must have sneaked them in when I wasn't looking.

What's in your secret stash?

PS I also love paper. Do you?

  2. PAPER! lots of paper and i'm starting to find old hardback books creeping into my stash...I guess they are hoping to be made into art books ;)

  3. Mine is paper. I used to work at a scrapbooking store. I bought 3 pieces of every sheet of paper I liked. There were 2 pieces in case I wanted to do a 2 page layout and one to hoard!

I still have a hard time using a piece of paper if I don't have spare. Do you think they have a 12-step program for this ;)

  4. Mine is fabric - especially linens, japanese cottons and fine lawn.
I do use it a lot but never at the rate that I seem to accumulate more. So my stock pile is growing!
But the good thing is I always can find something that matches when I need it!

  5. So it's not just me... I think I might organise a lucky dip swap of hoarded stash some time in the near future!

  7. Journals is mine! Any kind of blank book, sketchbook or journal, different sizes, I love them all. My favorites are the ones with unique covers or delicate papers inside. My newest treasure has a leather embroidered cover and textured cream pages. It's bound together with a simple stitch of braded string that extends out the middle of the spine in a length long enough to wrap around the journal to hold it closed. Pens run a close second, fine line pigma micron or the like in many colors and line widths. (I think I need that 12 step program too!)

  8. We should all get together and share! Antoinette, your new journal sounds gorgeous

  9. I'm with Antoinette and the journal fetish. The latent potential of their blank pages, the beauty of textured covers and heavy weight paper. I seem to hoard them for fear of tarnishing their perfection with my scribble, or procrastinate over which subject I should dedicate to each notebook. What if I get it wrong? How about the great half finished sketchbook swap?

  11. Ooh, Beth, a woman after my own heart! I adore haberdashery - ribbons and buttons are my favourites. Not to mention stationery. I've posted on it and will do one on ribbons soon. J x

  12. unforchly, since recession bit, I have had to ebay my stashes. But I still have a fair amount of paper - I like the smell. It reminds me of libraries, bookshops from my childhood (so full of promise), and Grandad.
